City Of Delhi

One Smile Wide, Filled With Pride

A LITTLE ABOUT DELHI

Delhi is a small town with a lot to offer. We are a business-friendly community, which is evident by a full main street. We are also a family-friendly town. Our residents are able to enjoy a variety of activities sponsored by the school, churches, city, local organizations and county.  Delhi is a safe community with a great volunteer fire department and EMT First Responders.

The City of Delhi is located on State Highway 38, 3 miles south of U.S. Highway 20 and within 50 miles of the metropolitan areas of Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and Dubuque. The Delhi motto is “One Smile Wide, Filled With Pride”. The Delhi City Park features a playground, covered pavilion, grills, water, and electricity for picnics and recreation. The Delhi American Legion building is located within the park. The city has installed antique lighting, new sidewalks and landscape improvements in the park. Silver Lake Park in Delhi is located on 40-acres, which is stocked with large mouth bass, bluegills, and catfish. Picnicking is permitted in the park.  The area includes playground equipment, a well as a shelter, grills, and toilets. There is also a new campground located near Silver Lake Park - Big G's Campground with water and electricity hook-ups. Beautiful Lake Delhi is located within 2 miles of Delhi.

This town of over 400 people has a number of businesses that provide services and opportunities for employment. These include three restaurants, a bank, agri-business with feed supply service, convenience store, farm equipment repair, welding and metal fabrication shop, lumber yard, auto repair, plumbing and heating, construction, taxidermy, beauty shops, and numerous other businesses serving the needs of the community. The major employer in the Delhi community is Stanley Black & Decker with a workforce of 261 and growing. New housing options: 1) Thompson Estates subdivision; 12 shovel-ready lots that are available for sale, along with 2) Hobbs Meadow Estates; 18 shovel-ready lots ready for your purchase!
